atalina Cruz was 19 when she began working at Volkswagen. From the outset, she faced stares and comments from people who believed a car factory was no place for women.

Over the years, she came to understand firsthand the inequalities women faced within the company: discrimination, harassment, and abuse.

After two decades on the production line, Katy decided she had had enough. She stepped forward to challenge those injustices and make sure her voice, and those of her women coworkers, would be heard.

Through her experience, this episode explores women’s struggle for dignity, recognition, and a voice in Mexico’s automotive industry. Her story raises questions about whose concerns are heard at work and how women can participate in changing the conditions they face.
