What We Do at Malacate AudioColectivo

By Malacate AudioColectivo

Last updated: October 18, 2026

We listen, research, and tell stories.

At Malacate, we conceive and develop audio, storytelling, and cultural projects in collaboration with communities, organizations, and institutions.

Audio production is our specialty. We bring together research, social documentation, and participatory methods to develop projects that preserve lived experiences, share knowledge, and create opportunities for connection and reflection.

Nuestras áreas de trabajo

Audio Production and Storytelling

We conceive, research, and produce podcasts, audio documentaries, narrative series, and other audio experiences.

We work across the creative process, from initial questions and research through editorial development, recording, production, and distribution.

Research and Social Documentation

We develop research and documentation projects that bring together personal accounts, knowledge, memories, and individual and collective experiences.

Through in-depth interviews, narrative inquiry, and participatory methods, we create materials that document social processes and share the knowledge developed by the people involved.

Listening Sessions and Community Gatherings

We design and facilitate collective listening sessions, workshops, public conversations, and cultural gatherings.

We approach audio productions as starting points for sharing experiences, dialogue, and collective reflection, creating more opportunities for these stories to circulate and connect with different audiences.

Cross-Border Collaboration and Co-production

We foster joint projects involving organizations, communities, universities, cultural institutions, and creative teams in Mexico and the United States.

We bring together skills, knowledge, and perspectives to develop audio, research, and social documentation projects that build connections across places and audiences.

What stories can we create together?

We welcome collaborations with communities, organizations, institutions, and creative teams that have a story to tell, an experience to document, or a question to explore.

We can work together from the earliest idea through a project’s development and distribution, contributing our experience in research, storytelling, audio production, and collaborative methods.

Let’s talk about what we can create together.
